Are you making these common skin-care mistakes?

How well are you taking care of your skin? Many of us today are guilty of the habit of going to sleep with face loaded up with makeup. This can result in breakouts when checking the mirror the next day. Instead, follow some good advice and stop doing these things if you have done them before!

  • Not using quality products:
When it comes to using a new product, many of us persist even when we suffer symptoms that it’s not right for us. If your skin is reacting poorly it’s best to cease using this product. If you still have problems you may need to seek medical advice.
  • Treating every pore on your skin as blackhead:
Blackheads are dark and can be safely removed. But, that does not mean that every black thing on your skin is blackheads. It can be your skin pores too. If you put pressure on them, a filament might come out but that does not mean it is a blackhead.
  • Prying with under-skin pimples:
Well, many of you have the habit of just prying with under-skin pimples. However, it will not do any good and might cause more harm. It might also result in hyperpigmentation.
  • Not paying attention to your skin signs:
Your skin will show what it actually needs. Not paying attention to these cues might cause harm. Signs like oiliness and inflammation are the signals that your skin needs attention.
  • No pre or post care:
In case you are going for a laser or peel treatment, follow your dermatologist’s pre- and post- care suggestions. It will do you good!
  • Going for too much:
Trying to do too much might show inverse results. There is no need to peel or using scrub regularly.

Don’t use airport USB chargers

Don’t use airport USB chargers

Reposted with permission from Bob Pritchard

Your flight leaves in 20 minutes and you want to say goodnight to your kids and to your spouse. Damn, the cellphone power is seriously in the red zone…and your charger cord is in your checked luggage. I am certainly not going to buy a new adapter at airport prices, I already have a bunch of them at home from the last 10 trips where it was the one thing I forgot to bring.

I contemplated asking a guy sitting on the floor next to a power plug charging his phone when I spot a free charging station where I can rapidly charge my device. I heave a sigh of relief and plug into the USB port so I can call the kids and put some selfies up on social media.  I think I have had a win but actually, my troubles are just beginning.

Cybercriminals can modify these USB charging stations to install malware on your phone or secretly download information.  Plugging into a public USB port is like finding a toothbrush on the side of the road and deciding to stick it in your mouth. You have no idea where that thing has been. The port can readily transport data.  These stations can be modified by cybercriminals to install malware on your phone or download information without your knowledge. These ports could act like a passageway from your device to the charging station.  It’s far safer to plug your regular charger into a power socket or use a portable power bank.

If you must use a public USB port, use a mobile security gadget known as a Juice-  Jack Defender.  It’s a little dongle you put in front of your charging cord that basically blocks any data from passing down the cord. It only passes the voltage. New research from IBM security found that travellers are being increasingly targeted by hackers.

The 2019 IBM X-Force Report said the transport industry was the second most attacked sector in 2018 moving up the ranks from 10th in 2017 and accounting for 19 per cent of all attacks observed by IBM X-Force. It is also recommended to avoid tech accessories, such as charging cords or USB sticks, left behind by other travellers. These often contain a chip inserted by a cybercriminal, allowing them to take control of your device.

According to the report, which looks at how cyberattackers are altering their techniques to hack devices, the financial services industry remained the most attacked sector of 2018.  However, the transportation industry — which did not even make the top five list last year — moved to the second most attacked sector in 2018, with attempted attacks increasing threefold since the year prior.

A hacker at an airport is not going to easily take apart the charging station, but it’s easy just to leave a cord behind.   So, if you see an Apple charging cord, you’re likely to grab it or just plug into it. But inside this cord is an extra chip that deploys the malware, so it charges your phone, but the hacker now own your computer.

Did you hear about the smartphone hacker who lives upstairs instead of his mom’s basement? That dude is on a different level.

Which common food additive could be harming your health?

According to a recent study, it has been found that a common food additive which is found in over 900 food products including mayonnaise and chewing gum might be doing serious damage to the health of people. It might also lead to various serious diseases like cancer.

The study was conducted by the University of Sydney. It has been found that the additive E171 is being commonly used in most of the food products along with some medicines as a whitening agent. It might lead to substantial influence on the health of human beings. The white food colorant, known as E171 is composed of nanoparticles of titanium dioxide. The health experts of France are so much concerned about its effects that the Government is going to ban it from next year.

The study found out that with consumption of food containing E171 has an adverse effect on gut microbiota. It is among the trillions of the bacteria that inhabit in the gut and can trigger various bowel diseases along with bowel cancer.

According to Dr Wojciech Chrzanowski from the pharmacy school of the university, continuous exposure to titanium dioxide impacts the composition of gut microbiota. It acts as the gatekeeper of human health and thus any change in its composition directly influences overall human health. Diseases like dementia, cancer metastasis, auto-immune diseases, autism, asthma and eczema are among the list that has been directly linked to the exposure to nanoparticles.

According to Associate Professor Laurence Macia, the consumption of E171 needs to be regulated. She said that their research has shown that titanium dioxide interacts with gut bacteria and impairs many of their functions which might result in the development of various serious diseases. She also said that the study found out that nanoparticles do not change gut microbiota composition but alter the growth of bacteria.

Gold In Unprecedented Surge

Gold In Unprecedented Surge

This article is three months old. We are posting to show that the predictions are running true for the price of precious metals. Please enjoy the article to assist in your decision.

Gold is now starting to break loose and has broken above the US $1350 Maginot Line at US $1358 recently.

It is now only a matter of time before it breaks through the next major resistance level at US $1400. What many people fail to realise is that gold is now at an all-time high in Australian dollars, and a Perth Mint one-ounce gold kangaroo is currently priced at around $2067, and the bull run hasn’t even started yet.

You would think that mainstream media would be identifying the surge and releasing it to the public. No wonder many people are still in the dark and no wonder so many people relying on this source only hear about it long after the horse has bolted.

I’ve very often said that quoting gold’s value in US dollars can be quite irrelevant. What one needs to consider is what you may be able to exchange for your ounce of gold. A Venezuelan family would very much understand that philosophy. Incredibly right now there are 75 countries around the world where gold is priced in their currency at its highest point in recorded history.

This phenomenon is unprecedented.

It used to be typically emerging countries experiencing this fate, but now it’s countries like Australia, England, Canada and Germany that are leading the way with their devaluing currencies, entering the final phase of their final 3 to 4% depreciation against gold, taking them to zero.

With two to three more interest rate cuts coming over the next year, where do pensioners and retirees go from here? There is absolutely no incentive to save as we head towards zero and/or negative interest rates.

What most people fail to realise of course is that gold has outperformed all other major markets over the past 17 years including bonds, the stock market, and even Real Estate.

Let’s look at how gold has performed from 2002 through 2018 in three major currencies, namely the US dollar, British pound, and the Euro.

The average annual gain for gold in US dollars in that period was 12%, in Pounds 12% and Euro 9%.

Coincidentally in Australian dollars, the average annual gain for gold over the same period was 19.5%. I doubt that there would be many real estate investors talking those numbers.

In the last eight months since October, gold is up 17% in Australian dollars and looking like it may repeat that over the next eight months. Just confirming that’s a staggering $90,000 on a $500,000 investment in the last eight months, and has gone completely under the radar.

History can teach us a great deal but we need to be good students.

Where is silver placed you may ask?

Silver in Australian dollars has provided an average annual gain over the same period of 8.8%. Both gold and silver have provided extraordinary returns over the 17 year period, and for most people, it has been completely undetected. Silver, of course, now sitting at around 90 to 1 ratio to gold represents very low risk with the potential for incredibly high gains.

Silver in this environment has been described by many experts as performing like gold on steroids. I don’t believe we have long to wait!

Even with interest rates around the world negative to just over 2%, most governments can hardly service the debt, and typically the US debt has doubled every eight years since Reagan became president.

If, and it seems more than likely this continues, by the end of 2020 the US will have a debt of $40 trillion. So governments will continue to do what they have always done and print until the currency goes to zero, and gold and silver will once again provide the ultimate form of wealth preservation and protection of their assets.
