Tips To Improve Your Mental Wellbeing

Tips To Improve Your Mental Wellbeing

If you want to stay healthy and happy throughout the course of your life, one thing that you can never pay too much attention to is your Mental Wellbeing.

Poor mental health can lead to problems like depression and anxiety. Especially in turbulent and stressful times, it is absolutely essential to take care of your mental wellbeing.

Although the world is going through a lot during the Coronavirus pandemic, make some time to turn off from worldly matters and focus on your mental health.

Here are a few ways that you can improve your mental wellbeing by focusing on yourself:

Learn New Things

Make the time to explore something that you’ve always wanted to. Maybe you wanted to learn baking for quite a while, take up a creative hobby and did not get the time, but you can do that now. Exploring new things makes you feel joyful in life. There are numerous books you can read and online courses you can take so why not do that today!

Get Adequate Sleep

Proper sleep is essential if you want to be in the best of your mental state and feel joyful. Although it can be tempting to pull all-nighters watching your favourite movies, no joy is better than that of a good night’s sleep.

Don’t Miss On Self-Care

If you want your mental health to be at its best, you should definitely practise self-care. It can be as little as listening to your favourite music, but it does make a change. You can also practice yoga or take warm baths just to show yourself that you too deserve some pampering.

Eat Good Food

Your diet certainly affects your health; both mental and physical thus it is important to consume food that boosts your immune system and your brain. Eating well balanced diet improves your brains functioning and thus improves your mental wellbeing.

By practising these little yet significant things, you can definitely be in a better mental state than you are now.

Reasons Why You Should Switch To Natural Perfumes Today!

Switch To Natural Perfumes

A perfume is something that’s personal. Every time you wear that special perfume of yours, all the memories come flashing back. Many people get so attached to a perfume that it becomes your signature scent.

Have you ever paid attention to the ingredients of your perfume? Although it may smell heavenly, the ingredients are often mostly chemicals like petrochemicals, and parabens that can lead to harmful diseases or allergic reactions.

A better option is to switch to natural perfumes that are made from botanical and other biological ingredients to give you a pleasant fragrance. Besides having amazing natural ingredients, here are a few more reasons for you to switch to natural perfumes:

A Unique Fragrance

Unlike synthetic perfumes that are alike on each skin, natural perfumes are reactive in a way that means they smell different on different skin. This means that when you wear a natural perfume, you get a scent that is absolutely unique for you and will not be the same on another individual.

How amazing is it to have a perfume like this?!

The Ingredients Are Crystal Clear

The perfume you purchase contains a list of ingredients on it; however it does not mean that all the ingredients used in it are mentioned. Often, various ingredients are masked. When you purchase a natural perfume, you can be assured that all the ingredients are mentioned honestly and nothing is hidden from you.

Therapeutic Benefits

Natural perfumes not only have a wonderful scent, but they also have various therapeutic benefits because of the essential oils they contain. These ingredients can help you meditate well and can also make you reminisce and recall old memories.

With such amazing benefits provided, why would you still want to use synthetic perfumes? To order your natural perfume today, visit our store.

A vision for the future

A vision for the future

In this blog I’d like to share another project I participate in each week outside my InnerOrigin business.

You may or may not know, that I am blind. In March of 1993, I found out that my retinas were dying as a result of a genetic and hereditary condition called Retinitus Pigmentosa.

Prior to that year I’d lived a normal life. School and rugby league when I was a child. After leaving school and getting a job, drivers license and forklift ticket;  I worked at a wreckers, service station, motorcycle centre and in warehousing. All in all, life seemed to be going along okay.  After I achieved the forklift ticket I had made plans around gaining machinery tickets and then travelling anywhere in the world.

Well, you can plan but not predict!!!

Here I am near 30 years later and working from home, blind and life is not as I planned.  However, the sun gets up everyday and I can’t lay in bed all day as it will get messy!

In 2003, I joined a business club.  I participated in several roles in the club and on it’s dissolution in 2012 I had filled the role of President for the last financial year.  March of 2009 I participated in a fundraising walk up Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania (You can read the blogs about this walk on the GFH website).  On returning from Southern Africa I also took another journey to be a high achiever in Karate – this is something I’m still participating in regularly today.

Over the last couple of years I have embarked on a mission to help normally sighted people have a clearer understanding of my life as a blind person.  This started as a result of my experiences of walking in my local shopping centre and local community.

I found that many people would stand quietly in one spot when they saw me coming. If I occasionally bumped into them we would have a discussion as to what they could best do in that situation.

Another time I heard a young child asking their mother what, “that man was doing with the stick.”  The mother told the child not to stare and to keep walking.  I walked over and politely asked permission to explain to the child what the stick was for.

I have many other stories similar to these.

When these situations arose I would post on local community Facebook pages. A friend suggested creating my own dedicated Facebook page – #tipsfromablindman which I have now done and each Wednesday afternoon, or evening , I post a tip for the week.

These #tipsfromablindman attract a lot of likes on the community pages and so now with the page #tipsfromablindman you can follow and learn something new each week about how I do the things I do, including some of the technology I use and humorous tips – for example about waiting in line at a store where there are lines on the floor due to the COVID distancing  requirements.

Several articles have been written about my recent journeys in life.  I also have had several radio interviews asking me why I created the page and the engagement I now have in my local community.  Here’s a link to the latest radio interview – Tips from a Blind Man 2.
People recognise me and are willing to engage with me and other vision impaired and blind people to assist them in their tasks which is a really positive.

Aside from my #tipsfromablindman I work with a commercial cleaning company on the phone, am an affiliate of InnerOrigin and love sharing in the wellness industry.  I don’t know of another online eCommerce store where they have a Product Advisory Board who accept, or don’t accept, where the ingredients for the products are sourced as well as checking on the farming and business practices of where the ingredients are sourced.  All in all – too many other benefits to write about here.

Your body is am amazing thing! So many systems working harmoniously together – InnerOrigin products can help you take care of them for you to live a longer and more prosperous life. If you’re interested, please connect with me and we can discuss further. Alternatively, read some of my other blogs regarding being an advocate with InnerOrigin

I look forward to talking with you!

The 5 A’s in the time of COVID-19

5 as in the time of covid

Recently listening to a Zoom webinar by a trainer for the Inner Origin business leaders he noted these five A’s; Awareness, Acknowledgement, Acceptance, Action, Accountability.

So I thought I would expand on them with my own meanings.  You will have your own ways of thinking about these words.  However, I hope I can provide you with some inspiration.

Occasionally we may experience some dark moments in our lives and with COVID making its presence known right now, for some people, these times can be darker.  Being locked down with nowhere to go, no one to see or talk with can make those times even more dark.

If you, or someone you know, has lost your job or career you may be feeling lonely and disconnected with the world as you  knew it.  add tho that the stress of not being able to catch up with family who you know may be vulnerable, not only medically, but emotionally or physically. So – what can you do?

Awareness

This is the time to take a look at your current situation and realize this experience won’t be around forever.  When it is all over and freedom of movement has been relaxed you’ll feel so much more alive.

Take a moment to reflect on where you are right now and consider what you can do to assess your current state of mind.  Write notes, or quotes, on a pad and record for your own reference your current thoughts and where they may have been two to four weeks ago.

This may give you some perspective as to where your train of thought is.  Are you content with your current state of mind?  Are you drinking more alcohol then before the lock down?

Acknowledgement

Here you may recognize that you have an issue, or that you are content with the way life is for you as you are busy with working from home, or just have more time to do what you love to do!

You may have read your notes from the last few days and considered them to see you may not be thinking the same thoughts you were last year.

Have you noticed a difference in the way you interact with people you’ve known for some time, whether it be for years or in the last few months?  Has someone said to you that you seem different emotionally, or physically.  Not showing as much confidence?  Are your shoulders slumped forward?

Acceptance

In this stage you’ve recognised a problem and are able to see it for what it is!  You have the option to continue the way you’re going, or, make the change to be where you want to be.

If you’ve accepted your current situation and feel you have no other alternative please talk with someone who thinks differently to the way you do and accept their thoughts

Action

Here you know where you want to be with your thoughts and are keen to take what it takes to be in a very different head space.  Talk with someone. Whether that’s a friend, family member, Lifeline or Beyond Blue.  The action you take is the one that suits you at this moment.

There are many books around for you to learn a new emotional skill.

Physical exercise is also a great way to clear the mind and get the pheromones flowing.  Picking up the phone and talking may help too!

Consider taking on a new business where you will be talking with people as you know you’ll need to be in a different head space depending on your conversation.  Telemarketing is what I do and I need to have a smile on my face when talking with the person on the front desk so they feel better about the call themselves.  Many times I hear the person at the other end of the line sound so much brighter when I call because of the smile in my voice.

Accountability

Here, find a partner to also go on the journey with you and both have notes to ensure you’re on the right path to coming out the other side.  This may be an exercise partner where you both agree that the other person can’t shy away and say it’s too hard.  Or, just don’t feel like it today.  With my experience of participating in Karate I have had many times where I didn’t want to train.  However, I turned up and at the end of training I felt fabulous, sweaty and very positive emotionally.  Age is not a barrier as I am 53 years old and another student is in her 80’s and we’re loving it.

You could find a partner and take on an online business where you agree to be accountable to each other to commit to building the business.  You may also find you have learnt from your experience through this COVID and are able to help others on their journey.  There is a movement going around the world and people are recognizing they can’t do it alone and that is why their finding communities to be involved and grow themselves and others.  People stay connected and encourage others to live life and love it.  Being involved they feel they are accountable to the other people in the group.

I am blind and find by keeping myself fit through my own exercise regime at home, working from home, and having an online business I am able to feel I make a difference to people lives.  I mentioned above I participate in a Martial Art.  My Sensei feels he keeps me accountable through the training and the Kata I am learning for the next grading on my journey.    Karate may not be for you, however, there is a activity that will suit you.  Get the heart rate up and the endorphins  flowing.

As for other actions connect with me and we can discuss what suits you.  Maybe it’s improving your food intake, going on a cleanse, adjusting the cleaning chemicals in your house/bathroom?  Or, joining with someone to begin a business with a minimal fee.  You may not succeed, however, you may crack it and be successful.  Many people aren’t, you may be the right person to build a lifestyle where you can train people to follow a system to live their lives and take the action to improve their mindset, emotional health and financial situation.
