Over the last four and half years whilst growing the number of articles on Groceries for Health I’ve tried to provide relevant information on keeping yourself healthy and encouraging you to consider taking a closer look at what and how you consume foods and take care of your body. From inside and out! I can only provide the information, it’s still up to you to take the action!
I certainly have taken the action and have really enjoyed the experience. At 55 years old I may have retired from being a full time Karate student but I still train twice a week at a local dance hall I have access to! I have participated in the art of Karate for the past 12.5 years and have gained a lot of skills over that journey. So, I did not want to lose what I have learnt.
Twice a week I still do an hour and half to two hour session of training. Plus, I do a physical workout at home each Saturday. To do this I must keep focus and look after my body, both inside and out. For me, physical fitness is important not simply for it’s own sake but also to maintain my balance and the strength of my bones. Being blind I occasionally walk into objects I didn’t know were there, so, avoiding falling over is another reason to stay fit and have balance.
For myself I have taken a little from each of the articles that have been created and taken it on as knowledge for my current life and my future. You can do the same.
As you may remember, if you do a search through the articles, I am vision impaired/blind. This I don’t see as a disability. I see it as a bloody hindrance! Having said that, my blindness allows me to view life in a different way to a lot of sighted people. I don’t get caught up in the marketing on the streets, shop fronts, shopping centres, supermarkets when I go shopping. And I don’t see myself getting older when standing in front of the mirror!!! By the way if you can see the wrinkles on your face in the mirror you’re standing too close! Ha ha 🙂
This will be the last post coordinated by me. So the next person who takes this site on will have the reigns and guide you on their journey. I have learnt so much about owning and running a website with social media. So many issues arise without notice and having the right people around me to rectify the problems have helped a great deal. Websites and social media is very much a sighted persons activity as images are vital these days. Security tickets and renewals are a surprise when they appear. Same thing though, having the right people around you helps. I’ve paid for all of this and have sincerely appreciated the help I have received.
Rachel, my Virtual Assistant has been in the back ground doing all the work on my behalf. Without her this website would not have progressed as it has. She’s been my eyes and Social Media Queen, you might say! She has also taken on learning about marketing on the platforms to enhance her skills. Thus improving the look of the online business.
All the visuals I definitely could not do myself so I thank Rachel so much for her assistance, experience, ideas and guidance.
