Bartering to live the life you desire

Bartering to live the life you desire

Bartering is the act of exchanging goods for goods of the same or similar value as perceived by the transactors.  This could be services for services, or cash for an equal perceived value!

Nowadays, bartering is very different to what it was like many years ago when backyards had vegetable gardens, and people had chickens to produce eggs.  Now, it is the almighty dollar which determines how “richly” a person lives.  Backyards are much smaller.  Houses are a different shape and designed with air conditioning for comfort in contrast to the old “Queenslander” which allowed for natural air flow and cooling.

Looking after our health is vital to living a long and happy life. But how do you ensure that you’re looking after all aspects of your well-being? This blog is part of a series of seven blogs on this topic.

Seven Elements for Well-being

We’ve come up with a list of seven elements that we believe contribute to living a healthy, happy life. Over the next weeks we’ll look at them one by one –

Fire – Take a daily dose of sun and grab some vitamin D
Water – Hydration is fundamental and bathing is pretty important too!
Air – Fresh air, take it in with simple breathing exercises
Earth – Grounding through Meditation (the importance of controlling your thoughts and relaxing your mind) and Family (embrace your close relationships to share experiences and life milestones)
Exercise – There’s no denying how vital exercise is to health and we discuss several types with big benefits
Keeping it Simple – Bartering, working to support your lifestyle and reducing material stressors

Are you comfortable with your current Lifestyle? Do you have enough cash flow to barter to live the life you really want?

Are you comfortable with answering those questions truthfully to someone else, or just to yourself?

Being comfortable is understood in numerous ways that vary person to person.  For example – I have met many people who thoroughly enjoy living in a shack in the country.  They have a sustainable garden which they tend and change what they produce with the seasons so they have enough food to get them by.  They’ll have chickens for eggs, occasionally a roast dinner, tank water for drinking and cooking and only purchase their clothes from second hand stores. They earn enough money to get them by.

I’ve also met people who would cringe at having to live like that because living in a multi story building with white walls is all they know.  Electricity is as easy as walking over to the power point or wall and flicking a switch.  Wi-fi is on call and electronic gismos for all occasions!  Although this may be a rich life for some, others prefer a large house with multiple rooms for each purpose.

Look what happened in the COVID-19 crisis when people were quarantined and people with regular housekeepers for their housework had to do it themselves.  Some learned how to work their washing machine for the first time, clean their house, and, home school their kids. These additions to routine were stressful for many.

So, it all comes down to lifestyle and how you like to live.  Are you comfortable?  If not look at how to increase what you’re currently doing to increase the financial flow and, ultimately achieve the lifestyle you desire.

This may mean exchanging what you currently own and replacing it with what you want or need.  If you’re renting and want to buy a house you’ll need to stash the cash and save for the deposit.  However, you still need to convince the bank you can repay the loan if you borrow.  With my own experience even applying for a small loan is difficult enough after the commission enquiry!

If you do not have the cash flow you desire you’ll need to look at alternatives to make it.  Options include –

  • Getting another job on top of what you are currently doing (a side hustle)
  • Going to university to increase your learning to get a higher paid job
  • Mortgaging the house to buy a franchise for anything from $50,000 to $250,000 with the hope that you get all the support you need  (looking around at the businesses that may not be opening up again for some time or not at all after the lockdown is over.  A lot of them are franchises that didn’t survive, however, the franchisee still has to pay the franchisor even though the business failed.  A great number of times with franchises the franchisee is trapped into purchasing products or ingredients from the franchisor at a much higher price then they could source in other ways for their store or business.)

Begin your own online business

Another alternative is to begin your own online business where you don’t touch the goods or do the deliveries, an example of this is InnerOrigin.

With InnerOrigin you don’t even have to source the products as the Product Advisory Board does all the screening for you.  All you’re doing is to purchase a site which is filled with product and promoting the products and for each item you promote and sell you receive commission.

The commission received is anything from $199, through to $3,000.  Your personal goal will reflect your goals for your future and life.

With world renowned Ambassadors, training and guidance you too can have a business which can provide the lifestyle you feel you deserve.  You just have to work for it.  If you do the business right you can create a lifestyle of any kind.  Want to live, travel and work from a laptop?  That can be your lifestyle too!

Exercise Regularly to Improve your Life (and keep disease at bay)

exercise regularly to improve your life

When it comes to exercise, the benefits are countless, yet, a lot of people do not consider spending a small chunk of their day indulging in exercise.

Not only does it make your bones healthy and strong, but also strengthens your muscles, helps with your balance and is advantageous for your overall health.

A little activity throughout the day keeps you mentally and physically fit. Exercise can be anything from squats, cycling, swimming, walking, and running to taking the stairs or even cleaning the house or pushing a grocery cart.

The Benefits of Regular Exercise

  • Assists with weight loss
  • Good for bones and muscles
  • Makes you feel joyous, releases endorphins
  • Aids in better sleeping and rest
  • Relaxes the mind and improves memory

Although there are various forms of exercises, several are really vital to your health. These include core strength exercise, resistance training and bone strength exercise.

Core Strength Exercise

This type of exercise strengthens your core muscles which include the muscles of the back back, abdominal and pelvic muscles. When you have strong core muscles, you can carry out many physical activities with great ease and achieve good upright posture.

Among the core strength exercises are crunches, plank, bridge, bird dog, side plank, bicycle crunch and warrior crunch.

Resistance Training

Resistance training is a form of exercise which helps to improve your endurance and muscular fitness. These type of exercises cause your muscles to contract in opposition to a type of external resistance.

Exercises in resistance training include use of medicine balls, weight machines, resistance bands, your own body weight and, free weights.

Bone Strength Exercise

Exercise is crucial for bone health and aids in preventing osteoporosis by building bone density. Forms of weight bearing physical activity will help to keep your bones healthy. So, partaking in exercises like walking, climbing, gymnastics, dancing, and lifting weights can help to improve your bone strength.

Daily exercise is not only good for your fitness but also enhances your mental health and can improve your mood. Adequate daily exercise can prevent or minimise chronic diseases and their effects and, thereby potentially increasing your life span.

As well as regular exercise, healthy eating including buying organic food for yourself and your family is of utmost importance.

Getting on with things

Getting on with things

If you’ve been reading my blogs for some time now you’ll understand that health and fitness are important to me.  Not only for living and having a standard life, but because I have been participating in the Art of Karate for the past 11 years and, being of a  a high grade student, I believe, I should be able to handle a fully physical class when we eventually get back to a proper dojo.

With the COVID virus making our lives more stressful and confined I have been resilient and innovative to ensure I keep up a regular schedule of training.  Whether that is to wear the Karate Gi and train with a YouTube video that a higher grade Sensei has made to keep students motivated and engaged, or, participating in a Karate Zoom class in my lounge room.

In order to participate in a Zoom class I move the lounge and mats to give me space.  I am not able to  perform a full kata, a series of combinations with Stances, kicks, strikes and blocks, due to the space in my lounge room.  However, I am able to do three to four move combinations.  Only moving forward and backward by three steps.

Before COVID I was attending the gym each Saturday morning.  So with the lock down I have been keeping up a regular practice by doing a work out here at home.  What helps me, I believe, is the music I choose to listen to!  With a Google home device I am able to listen to any radio station in the world.  I enjoy up beat blues music and I’ve found  a station that plays what I like at the same time I work out.  It gives me variety and inspiration to build a sweat.  Which is so important to me!

Something else which is important to each person’s well being is clean fresh air.  So, each Sunday my girlfriend and I walk up and over Mt Coot-Tha, here in Brisbane, Queensland. The trails we choose to walk are of a variety of inclines providing a different challenge each week.  We choose the trails to make us sweat and find it a wonderful work out for our legs and lungs. Each time we go we notice how much further we can get before asking to stop for a breather.  As I’m blind there’s an added challenge of exercise and walking on unstable ground. My girlfriend participates in pole fit classes and she is really appreciating the extra exercise, even though she is shattered by the time it takes us to get to the  BBQ for lunch!

“Every journey is an adventure and every day is an experience. “

My intention in writing this blog is to show that even though times are different these days with COVID it doesn’t mean you should curl up and wait for the gym to open or hope that friends will ask you to get out and go somewhere.  You are the person who defines your goals now and for your future.  Many people have been forced to realise that jobs may not always be there and that money doesn’t come all that easy.

In response to this, people have had to alter their routines and way of thinking about their future and what sort of lifestyle they wish to live.  Many people have lost their jobs and have had to be innovative in how they supplement their income.  Great for now!  Who knows what will happen once the businesses are up and functioning again.  Businesses have down sized, not only in the office, but in the number of employees too!  I know of this as currently I am also ringing businesses and talking with staff who are working from home.  Technology is on our side right now and that is facilitating restructuring.

There is an option for your future lifestyle and you have the choice of what it will look like.  Mine is to be fit, healthy and help as many people I can to improve their lifestyle to be what they want, not what they feel they have to settle for.

I listened to a Zoom call today by the company I am associated and I heard a wonderful term for a single mother.  Sharon, five time world boxing champion, calls herself an Independent Mother.

Know anyone who wants to be an Independent Mother?  Let me know!

Get that daily dose of sun to enhance your mood and soak up some Vitamin D

Sun, the ultimate and sustainable source of energy is a vital part of your daily life. There are good reasons as to why spending some time in the sun for a moderate amount of time is often suggested. Getting a little sunshine every day can do wonders for your body and health. As the rays of sun hit your body, the production of Vitamin D naturally begins. In addition to this, sunlight relieves stress, improves sleep cycle and also helps in treating depression.

Amazing Benefits of Getting That Ray of Sunshine in the Morning

Sunlight boosts your mood – Sunshine has proven to improve a person’s mood by regulating the production of serotonin – the feel good hormone.

Sunshine vitamin for your bones – Vitamin D – the sunshine vitamin is important when it comes to your bone health. It accommodates in the absorption of calcium and also acts as a shield against weakness of muscles.

Shield against various diseases – Although exposure to a lot of sunlight can cause skin cancer, getting adequate sunlight can keep various types of cancer and fatal diseases away.

Potential Harm from Sun Rays and how you can protect yourself from it

Although there are numerous benefits of getting in the sun, being under the hot rays for a long time can expose you to harmful UVA and UVB rays which may result in sunburn, wrinkles and spots. To keep yourself safe from these harmful rays, using a sunscreen before exposure to sunlight is highly recommended. An organic skincare that is mild on the skin and contains soothing and organic ingredients with a good SPF is the most preferable for your skin.

If you are wondering where to buy organic sunscreen, click here!

Despite being a little harmful when exposed to excessively, getting a moderate amount of sunlight daily can be beneficial for your mind, health and body.

Are you open to a new opportunity?

Are you open to a new opportunity

If you’re open to new opportunities or are actively looking for a new business venture – maybe InnerOrigin is for you! I’d like to let you know what encouraged me to take a closer look at Inner Origin as a business.

  1. Local products – A very clear attraction was promoting Australian product suppliers to prospective customers initially here in Australia.
Now, InnerOrigin are expanding into new markets in New Zealand, America and, more recently, Japan.

    2. The philosophy of Inner Origin also attracted me as they wish to provide products that will improve your lifestyle in many ways including clearly knowing the origin of the products and what they are. The values that they follow include:-
  • Cruelty free
  • No artificial colours or preservatives in food and beverages
  • GMO free
  • No nitrate or MSG
  • No petroleum
  • No artificial fragrances

Your new venture awaits

We’ve seen fantastic growth in each of these regional markets and are always looking for someone like you to take a look to see if you have what it takes to build your own online shopping business in your area.

You can choose to build your business via social media (as I am), or, be face to face and build it one on one!  Many Advocates/Affiliates of Inner Origin are building their business via staging pop up events where they invite an Ambassador along to attract potential customers and new business affiliates.  The attendees have the opportunity to experience some of the products by smell, taste, and feel.

Many people who choose to join the InnerOrigin community do not have experience at sales or marketing, however, they learn at their own pace  and are achieving the goals they set.  What’s that saying? “You never know unless you give it a go?!” Rather than wondering, “what if?” it were possible to grow a business from home, start by using the skills you already have!

How to start

You may have experience of your own on how to grow an online business like this to prospective customers and other people who are open to having an online store.  Take a chance and get in contact (see form below) and we can discuss whether this type of business suits you.

Everybody has the option to listen in on a Zoom Webinar held  twice daily and more on given days for each country.  Currently, Japan is proving to be very popular as, like America, they are looking for a trustworthy supplier of household and personal goods.

America’s suppliers of food and cosmetics do not have the same high standards as we do in Australia and that is why they are looking closely at spreading and growing the message of Inner Origin’s philosophy of allowing everyone to have the luxury of safe online purchases.

You are able to go to the events page or our Facebook pages (Australia, New Zealand, USA or Japan) to find the times of the Zoom Webinars that suit your time zone.  We have them posted there for you to set your alarm clock!

We do have a Product Advisory Board of professionals who vet products, ingredients and Merchant suppliers’ business ethics.
Not all products presented are promoted on the Inner Origin platform as they may have an ingredient where the source is from a farm that does not follow sustainable practises or the business ethics of the farmer do not suit the Inner Origin philosophy or ideals.  You’ll also notice that you won’t find any products that have man-made petrochemicals or GMO ingredients.

See you soon!

If you’re looking for

  • a new experience to fill your time
  • the ability to replace your current income in the future
  • new skills to be able market and sell
  • something different as you’re semi retired, in between jobs, or, retrenched and frustrated
  • something new, or

You’re simply open to this opportunity then please get in touch!

There is too much information to share on this blog.  So, please use the form below and get in contact with me and we can make a time that suits for a conversation.  You can also check out the Facebook pages for months of posts regarding the Inner Origin products and other relevant articles.

I looking forward to meeting with you soon.
Brian
